蛇纹石大理岩（Serpentine marble）

特征：
镁质碳酸盐类岩石（白云岩或白云质灰岩）经富含SiO2的热液作用形成的富含蛇纹石的大理岩。矿物成分以方解石（约占65%以上）和蛇纹石（20%～30%）为主，并含少量云母、磁铁矿，偶见滑石、绿泥石等。呈黄绿、灰黑等色，粒状或斑状变晶结构、致密块状构造，为含有少量硅质白云质灰岩或白云岩经热接触变质作用形成。白云质灰岩受到辉长岩烘烤变质为大理岩，然后又受到热液交代作用而成，石棉矿体的围岩，是矿床蚀变围岩之一。
蛇纹石大理岩属于变质岩类，成因为在构造运动所产生的定向压力作用下，岩石所发生的变质作用。其色彩花纹美丽者,可作为建筑装饰用石材或工艺品的原料。它是玉石的主要组成部分，与现代的蓝田玉的成分和玉质成分相似。因其标本产自山东省莱阳市，因此地得名“莱阳玉”。玉石以含均匀分布的橄榄绿色蛇纹石构成其特征。

Characteristics:
Marble is a metamorphic rock that may be foliated or non-foliated, composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Geologists use the term marble to refer to metamorphosed limestone; however, stonemasons use the term more broadly to encompass unmetamorphosed limestone. Marble is commonly used for sculpture and as a building material. Dust produced by cutting marble could cause lung disease but more research needs to be carried out on whether dust filters and other safety products reduce this risk.
Marble is a rock resulting from metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, most commonly limestone or dolomite rock. Metamorphism causes variable recrystallization of the original carbonate mineral grains. The resulting marble rock is typically composed of an interlocking mosaic of carbonate crystals. Primary sedimentary textures and structures of the original carbonate rock (protolith) have typically been modified or destroyed.
